The first recorded Loki Appreciation Month, to the knowledge of this author, was first celebrated in the momentous year of two-thousand and thirteen. The notion of it occurred in the mind of its original celebrant, one Amelia Wallis, some months before the occurrence of the event. At the time of its instigation, the creator of this month of Appreciation had no idea how far the influence of this event would spread, but hoped that it would soon take the world by storm. Forced as she was to temper her enthusiasm with rationality and sagacity, Miss Wallis was fully aware that the popularity of this holiday would most likely have limited effect until she was able to achieve a position of some great standing in the literary world, and so able to encourage the festivities associated with this grand month of tribute. After all, not everyone shared the same fanatical devotion and interest in the Norse god of Chaos, Mischief, Lies, Fire, Ice, Air and Luck. At the time of the original celebration, however, she hoped that this would be but the first of many such months of Appreciation, always to take place in the month of February.
As always, the author would be more than pleased to
take any Loki-related contributions that the readers may have. If you encounter
a particularly dazzling example of some tribute to the focus of this month of Appreciation,
please email it to one of the address below, so that the author can add it to
the posts of Loki Appreciation.
